Social Sign-In

Session Recordings (Microsoft Clarity & PostHog)

We use Microsoft Clarity and PostHog to record user sessions for improving the App experience. Important privacy protections:

  • All text inputs are automatically masked in recordings

  • Images are masked to protect personal content

  • No sensitive information (passwords, personal notes) is captured

  • Recordings are used solely for UX improvement and product analytics

  • You can opt out by contacting us

Product Analytics (PostHog)

We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the App. This includes:

  • Event Tracking: Recording in-app actions (e.g., adding books, completing workbooks) to improve features

  • Funnel Analysis: Understanding user journeys to optimize the experience

  • Feature Flags: Testing new features with select users before wider release

  • Session Recordings: Visual recordings of app usage with text and image masking enabled

PostHog data is stored in the EU region (eu.posthog.com) for GDPR compliance.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your information only in these circumstances:

  • Service Providers: With third-party vendors who assist in operating the App (as listed above)

  • Advertising Partners: With Meta (Facebook) for ad attribution, campaign measurement, and audience targeting. This includes device identifiers, app events, and hashed email addresses.

  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified)

5. Data Retention

  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active

  • Usage Analytics: Retained for up to 24 months

  • Session Recordings: Retained for up to 13 months (Microsoft Clarity) and up to 3 months (PostHog)

  • Deleted Accounts: Permanently erased within 7 days of confirmed deletion

6. Your Rights and Choices

Access and Portability

You can view your profile information and reading library within the App.

Correction

Update your profile, preferences, and library data directly in the App.

Deletion

You can delete your account from Settings > Delete Account. After confirming:

  • You have a 7-day grace period to cancel

  • After 7 days, all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted

  • This includes your profile, library, workbooks, and all associated data

Push Notifications

You can enable or disable notifications in your device settings at any time.

Analytics Opt-Out

GDPR Rights (European Users)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights including:

  • Right to access your data

  • Right to rectification

  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten")

  • Right to restrict processing

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)

  • Secure authentication with Supabase Auth

  • Row-level security policies on database tables

  • Environment variables for API keys (not hardcoded)

  • Regular security audits

However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately. We will delete such information promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such transfers.
